Widely popular in the Mediterranean, Asia and the Middle East, these classic treats were considered “health food” in ancient Greece. Sesame seeds are one of the oldest and most prized foods on the planet - rich in antioxidants, calcium, protein and vitamins E and B. With roots dating back 2,500 years ago to Greece, Pasteli were the “energy bars” of the first Olympians.
